Application of polyethylene wax in asphalt-bitumen compositions

The condition of the road surface both in cities and on highways leaves much to be desired. This largely depends on the quality of the materials used to prepare the road surface. One of the reasons is the lack of plasticity of the coating, which leads to its coloring and, as a result, the formation of potholes. The formation of ruts on asphalt in the summer, premature wear of the surface soft layer of the coating is also not a rare phenomenon on our roads. To eliminate all these disadvantages, it is necessary to use a polymer binder in the composition of asphalt-bitumen compositions. As this binder, polyethylene wax can act. The most widespread use of polyethylene waxes in road construction was in Canada (see video). It is worth noting that the used polyethylene wax is made from recycled secondary polyethylene. Thanks to this, several tasks are simultaneously solved-the disposal of hard-to-decompose waste, improving the operational properties of the road surface, reducing the cost of laying the road surface, reducing the amount of materials consumed. Our company has also developed a series of polyethylene waxes with the use of secondary polyethylene, a detailed description of these waxes can be found in the Products section.
