The use of polyethylene waxes in wood-polymer compositions allows to improve the mechanical properties of the finished product – thermal stability, bending and tensile strength by increasing the ductility of the material, hydrophobicity of the coating, giving gloss to the surface of the product. Also, polyethylene waxes in the production of WPC products by extrusion act as internal and external lubricants, which favorably affects the energy consumption of the extrusion process and reduces production problems associated with the mechanical processing of WPC polymer melts.
